Bassim Kanaan, LL.M., serves as a key member of the Al Ain Fertility Center (AAFC) Clinical Research Ethics Committee, where his extensive legal expertise significantly enhances the center’s commitment to ethical clinical research. With a rich background in law that began in Lebanon, Bassim has developed a specialized focus on commercial and corporate sectors, particularly in Banking, Finance, and Capital Markets. His career milestones include pivotal roles with the Saudi Oger/Hariri Family Group and Bankmed sal, where he provided strategic legal counsel on international transactions and investment activities.

In 2021, Bassim expanded his legal influence as the General Counsel at Emirates International Investment Company (EIIC), advising on strategic legal matters and contributing to various committees. His legal prowess is underpinned by an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center, alongside degrees in Lebanese and French Law from Université Saint Joseph in Beirut. A member of the New York State Bar since 2004 and the Beirut Bar Association since 1999, Bassim’s legal qualifications are both comprehensive and distinguished.
