Ethical Guidelines for Clinical Research

All clinical research conducted at Al Ain Fertility Center is guided by the stringent ethical standards as set forth in the Department of Health’s Standard on Human Subjects Research (Document Ref. No: DOH/ QD/SD/HSR/0.9). We strictly adhere to these guidelines, which align with globally recognized ethical principles, to ensure our research practices uphold the highest levels of integrity, respect, and protection for human subjects. Our research also complies fully with the institutional guidelines of Al Ain Fertility Center to ensure consistency and high standards across all our research activities.

  1. Respect for Persons: All individuals participating in our research studies are treated with dignity, and their rights to confidentiality and privacy are strictly maintained. Informed consent is obtained from each participant prior to their involvement in the research.
  2. Beneficence: All studies are designed with an intention to benefit society and improve patient care, while minimizing harm or discomfort to the participants. Potential benefits of the research should outweigh any potential risks.
  3. Justice: We ensure fair distribution of the burdens and benefits of research. Participants are selected without bias, and vulnerable populations are provided with special protections.
  4. Integrity: Honesty, objectivity, and meticulous attention to detail are fundamental in all stages of our research, from planning and conduct to reporting and publication.
  5. Transparency and Accountability: All research activities are conducted in a transparent manner, with regular reports to the CREC and appropriate record keeping.

Our Clinical Research Ethical Committee (CREC) is committed to ensuring these principles are upheld in all our research endeavors, creating a robust ethical research environment at Al Ain Fertility Center.
